Can't wait to see your airwing started! Trumpy's aircraft parts are so minute you sometimes lose them. Their newer kits were a big rip-off for me, the clear sprue idea was as dumb as, well...., I don't know..... I hated the clear sprues!

Yep, I'm no fan of clear sprue :Mad_6: had a time with my Trumpy Hornet's air wing as the paintt wouldn't stick!!

Thanks Nick I hope to have this completed by 16 JAN and yep, she'll be beautiful
As for the aircraft, The air wing had 80 abd her. F-4B, E-2, (Fujimi), A-1H (L' Arsenal), RA-5C, A3D, (Trumpeter), and whatever else I can come across... I still need the UH-2A/Bs A-4C & E

I have roughly 29 of 80 aircraft right now.

Your gonna build all 80 of them???? WOW!

My airwing still needs the S3s, EA6Bs, E2Cs and F14Ds since more than HALF of my present airwing (just 23 out of 90+) are F18s and 5 Tomcats. Most planes mentioned above are not even available in Cebu.

I heard the Ranger Association knew your model, hope they'd be satisfied (and utterly surprised) with your finished model!

Thanks,
Nick

Yeah, I had sent an email to the Ranger Association to show them what I've been bugging them for research for :heh: I'm still floored by the response I got from them!! :woo_hoo:

She looks very stunning red!! Glad she made it well. The bow you sent was pretty intact when it arrived here in Cebu and it's a LONG way from Frisco!

:thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

And Ed, I hope to see Ranger finished soon! Hope she comes out beautiful!
Will you be adding the airwing? if so, what planes and what manufacturer?

Thanks,
Nick

Red, You have an email inbound  Looks like we're gonna be infamous!! :heh: :heh:
I sent off an email to some of my Ranger friends & resources for info and, I think I will post part of the response here for the rest of the fellas to know what has taken place!!

Eddie: The model of the ship looks great – even in its unfinished condition. It will be a great model of our ship when you’re finished building it.

I want to put pictures of the model “as is” in the next edition of the Dockside newsletter. Your next pictures need a good background that does not distract from the model. Please re-position the model on a large piece of dark cloth so that it really stands out. Close ups are great just so long as the pix are in focus and not blurred.

A also need a “story” to go with the pix. Please give me a paragraph – tell me about yourself, they guy who build the hull and don’t forget to include your relationship to CDR Schoonover.

I sent a response with some pics as requested and, a run down on my grand uncle.

We're gonna be published Red!! :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

Red, She docked this afternoon :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: Ranger arrived in pretty good shape although I'll have to re-attach the bridle catchers & 1) 5" gun

Wasn't able to get pics taken when she came in but, will post some soon as I take them :thumbs_up_1:
I am amazed at the size of her  Seein' her in person is greater than I anticipated. Ya did good on her Mardis  Now it's my turn :woo_hoo:

:wave_1:

hey gtb,
Connie's on the run now, much better than I expected. I only lack some major railings and the airwing. The prices are getting higher by the hour! As for the port side, her basic shape is already done, the details will be added next. I also redid the catwalks since they were too high.

Hope to see more of your work soon!!!

btw, your Nimitz was a very excellent undertaking! Did you buid a hangar? and how did you make the sponsons?

Thanks,
Nick
