Thx Josse,

I won't be doing much on her for a couple of months as I have some projects that must be completed for other people (and clear some space) before I can do any major work on this beast!

My friend is branching off into 1/14 rc trucks and 1/16 rc Tanks a bit easier on his back!

G'day All,

Friday evening saw the arrival of a new project a partially built King George V class BB that I shall build as HMS Duke of York in around the 1942 period, I was going to do her in the paint scheme of "Battle of North Cape" but the earlier camo job of around 1942 appeals to me!! This will be a long term project as a ship like this deserves some careful research and construction

I purchased her of a TF72 club mate who due to a back injury decided to part with his two larger models (the KGV and a DDG51 FlightIIA). I had expressed interest in the BB 18 months ago he called me up and offered her to me for a bargain price. Still going thru all the resin fittings and such but at this stage I have all the main 14"(with turned Aluminum barrels) and secondary 5.25"Turrets and barrels from APSmodels, still need to get some 8 barreled pom poms (probably from Battlecrafts in uk) and a small pile of AA guns. She has Action electronics fitted at present but I may swap in some electronize ESC's instead after I do some rpm checks with an optical Tacho (and some on water power tests too later this Oz summer) She is running 4x 12v multi pole 'Crest' motors sourced thru TF72 but I may need to re do her A frames to fit more scale (larger) props....

Here are some teezer pix of her in my shed with USS Long Beach in background...

Cheers Bruce
