When I first looked at this, I thought it a real life photo!

That says it all!

And as the model sits right now. Additional details include railing, winches, upper sides of the hull, bollards, etc.

Still tons of work left to do, including cabin finishing touches, stairs, mooring lines.

All the 3D element designs are available on thingiverse in case they come in useful for anyone here

Installing rigging lifts and lines. All the lift motor spools are manually windable with a use of a small key. Likewise the front crane has two spools hidden inside its body so the position can be adjusted.

Test fitting 3D printed cargo hold hatches. Rear one is modeled open, the front one closed. The hatch panels have attachment points that fit most ready-made H0 scale containers.

Painted hull being test fitted to the dock on my train layout. Yes, it's a tight fit!

Hello everyone! My first post here so I'll try to be brief and to the point. I'm scratch- building an H0 scale waterline model of a Polish freighter Wejherowo. I've decided to build this as an addition to my H0 model train layout, which in itself is a loose interpretation of Gdansk area, including a sea port. This is my first scratch-built ship model, so I apologize in advance if the quality is not top notch, all I can say is that mistakes were made and lessons were learned :)

I will add detailed pics of the build so far, but let me start with a couple pictures of the original in action
