Started on the second YFNB, YFNB-42.

Here is a sample of the craft that will be in my Holy Loch, Scotland diorama.

This former US Army Coastal Cargo and Passenger boat T-430 (aka: T-Boat) was in service with the US Navy at Holy Loch, Scotland. This is my rendition in 1/700.

Nice to see NR1. I have fond memories of seeing references to this ' super secret' sub in books and other references at the time (I was 18 in 1987). Smudgy black and white pictures were all we had.

Thank you, Neptune! :wave_1:

Thank you, Pieter. Yes, I am working towards creating a 1/700 dio of Holy Loch sub base around 1987 or after.

Very nice work. Will you be making the whole base?

Prior to this YFNB, I made a YFN barge (number unknown as of right now) that was the "extended refit" barge at Holy Loch and was the shop for tiger teams from shipyards back in the States.

I started with a beautiful YC open lighter by Harold Abbott at Battlefleet Models.

Thanks! 1/700

Here is the final finish paint. I have yet to paint the lower deck walkway and add railings. Placement of gangways from the barge to the floating docks (aka: camels) will determine where the railings will be split. I'm going to add a black wash to it, as well. There will be up and down ladders on the fantail and raised platform extending out over the fantail where it would normally accept the brow from the sub tender. I am leaving these items to the very, last.

I am making a pair of YFNB barges which were both in service at Site 1 Submarine Refit Facility in Holy Loch, Scotland up until 1992. They are YFNB-31 and YFNB-42.

I have started one of them, YFNB-31, and I started with plans for an APL barge and added details based on photographs.

I decided to make an APL while I was at it.
