Topic review - Attaching GMM PE railing to Nichimo deck board side

Hi there admiral,

never looked at it this way.

Guess I'm going to have a deeper look at my GMM Yamato railings.
Referring to your advice I may even consider to scribe a very narrow groove in the middle of the outer board top side.
And that groove would then be scribed all the way around the outer board of the ship.
The bottom rail of the PE railings could then be nicely glued half in the groove and half extending above the outer board.
Your answer gave me another view on this problem.

Thanks for your input.
Have a good evening,
Katana

You certainly could drill holes and cut off the bottom rail to install, but that would be a lot of extra work.

The railings are designed with a rail on the bottom that keeps the rails in line and provides extra support. It also simulates the lip found on the edge of many ship decks.

Personally, I would just glue the rail sections along the edges, same as I do with 1/350 ships.

Dear all,

does anybody of you experienced modelers has a method or the experience to attach the Photo Etch railings of the 1/200 Gold Medal Models Yamato Superset to the Nichimo deck board ?
I reccon I have to make holes in the top of Yamato's outer wall to support the railing stanchions ?
Or maybe there is another/ easier method to do it without holes ?
Anyway , each advise will be appreciated.
