Thin insulated wire, smallest you can find, with the insulation sliced into short lengths and pushed apart slightly to represent the floats. Either paint the whole thing and coil it to fit the baskets or thread the insulation segments onto some fine thread.

I do that, too, but with a core of putty so I don't have to use too much plastic rod. Not too sure about 1/350, but for 1/200 you could make "real" floaters by stringing smallest size cylindrical beads on fine thread. Bet you they would look real good on 1/144 Fletcher! :wave_1:

I used folded wire painted brown. If I were to do it again, I'd add white glue blobs to add better texture.

Hey all,

I've been building the Trumpeter USS Indianapolis in 1/350. I'm about to the point of rigging and realized I don't have anything in the float baskets. I've done a lot of searching and could not find that much on it. What do you all use to portray these nets and fill these in 1/350?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Will be submitting this one to the gallery when she's finished so keep an eye for it! :thumbs_up_1:
