It will be refloated shortly according to this video, which shows that the living works have been completed. The front extension of the dock has been removed. The dock has been cleaned in preparation for immersion.
They must be in a hurry to free up the dock, it's expensive, the rest can be done on the quayside. Including restauration of the wood deck.

Bruce: Thank you for the explanation! Some museum ships such as U505 have such side entries for public access!

The boxes on the starboard side are part of the mooring system that was used during her time at San Jacinto. According to one of the videos that the curator crew has been putting out they will be again used for that purpose once she moves to a permanent berth. Similar to what you see with the USS Kidd.

Pascal:
Thank you for the update! She is looking very good indeed, except like Bismarck, being fated to forever steam in circles. The boxes on the side of the hull are for visitor access?

Thanks, Jon! Those measurements will work!
Hi David, no replacements, just checking some measurements of a kit I no longer have in hand.

My cheap Harbor Freight calipers show 7.50mm. Another set varied from 7.35mm to 7.7mm. Maybe this is of some help.

Need some help checking Trumpeter 1/350 scale kits. If you have a Trumpeter 1/350 scale Texas or New York kit and have access to a digital caliper, please measure the diameter of the slot for the 14" turrets and let me know what you find (millimeters preferred).
Any help is hugely appreciated!

Wonderful update on this huge project!
I wouldn't be surprised if the renovation exceeds the original (non inflation) cost of Texas.
Thanks! Tom

Nice movie.
Battleship Texas USS Texas 5 Minutes of Raw Unedited Drone Footage At Gulf Copper Dry Dock:
We had to turn a 5” gun this morning as it was in the way of the crane but it was well worth it! The second torpedo blister module is currently being fitted to the hull.
