Yes.

Sounds good. (Hmm, I wonder if the French archives might have the originals too, since she was built there? Too bad I couldn't find her name in the listing)

I'll be moving this to the CASF section later.

Got it, awesome!

I assume the 2001 plans are more accurate?

I assume so, they seem to be the reprints from the archival plans so I'd assume that by default unless you can get the photos to confirm it, they are the more accurate ones.

Ah, I see. Thanks again :)

I expect to start this build in a few months, after my Mikasa and maybe 1/700 Atlanta.

Ah ha, that makes more sense. From the photos on navsource, it was difficult to tell the relative sizing of the casemate and main deck guns. Navsource also mentioned a few 37mm - where did they go, and were they on before and/or during Tsushima?

37mm guns were often used as the boat guns - they were installed on the small boats for the landing parties, so they had no fixed place on the ship and were kept in storage. 2 37mm guns sounds like the standard boat gun load.

Wonderful! Thanks so much :)

Are the 75mm the ones in the hull casemates?

No, they were installed above the casemates before the ship went to Tsushima. Here is the location of the guns:

BTW, do not use this drawing, it's inaccurate. Use the other ones that you linked.

Vladimir

P.S. Here is my Svetlana in progress (through it's been about 2-3 years since I worked on it.):

Here is some info on the Russian guns of the period that you would need for Svetlana:

6"/45:
http://www.fortification.ru/oldforum/in ... topic=1107
http://svsm.org/gallery/152mm_Canet - this one is on the coast defense mount, so there will be some differences with a ship mount.

75mm/50:

47mm Hotchkiss:

37mm Hotchkiss:

There is more info, but it's on the sites that this board doesn't allow to be linked to it (for copyright violations). If you want that info, send me an email - yak_v @hotmail.com

Were the 6" and 75mm also found on the Borodino class and/or Varyag?

Yes. They were the standard Russian guns for the ships built from 1892 to 1905. Pretty much every cruiser and battleship built in those times carried them.

I'll take a look at home to see if there is anything available... There are at least two articles on it - one in the Sudostroenie magazine from 1980s and one (more recent) from Gangut Magazine. The plans that you have come from that article. I'll try to see if I can find the scan of the article for you.

The guns were the standard 6"/45 and 75mm/50 of the Russian navy, so if you have the reference for any ships of the era, you can used those.

Why not? =P

But no, I plan on building it as a present for a friend of the same name.

I am looking for plans of weapons/fittings and hull sections for this vessel. I have the pictures from Navsource.narod.ru (http://www.navsource.narod.ru/photos/02/016/index.html).
I have also looked on the Airbase.ru forum, and found a couple of overhead and side profile drawings, but still require the hull sections and some more detailed drawings of the fittings. I am including these attached below to avoid replications.

I know Combrig makes one in 1/700, but am thinking of trying my hand at scratchbuilding one in 1/350 or slightly smaller.

Thanks in advance!
