Hi Tom,
Thank you for the reply!

Do you know any names/numbers of these two Type 093G/B submarines?

According to the research I did for a recent article on the Chinese Submarine Force, this is a later Type 093G (for Gai) class modification. It is sometimes designated also as Type 093B. There are two of those so far. The hump is believed to possibly house a towed array reel housing. The sail was a small "fillet" on the leading edge of the sail.

Today, there is a review about the 1/700 kit of the Type 093 and Type 094 by Sphyrna:
http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/ships/plan/type093094-700-sphyrna/sphyrna-review.html

Which version is depicted?

The review states:
Quote:
The version in this kit incorporates some of the latest known changes, which Sphyrna dubs "Type 093 Improved" and others call "Type 093A": a lengthened sail with a blended leading edge akin to those on the American Seawolf and Virginias, a towed sonar array "tube" on top of the upper rudder, and a subtle hump transitioning from the trailing edge of the sail to the boat's back.

In this article, there are photos of the changes of the Type 093 and the kit fit to the lowest one:

But which version is this? And: which submarine could it be?

For the versions, there are different names, e.g. Type 093A, Type 093B, and Type 093G plus subversions of these...

It is even difficult to find out, how many submarines of the Type 093 were built:

The English Wikipedia article does not list any names, but writes 6 submarines, the Chinese Wikipedia mentions 10 boats and list 9 names:

Changzheng 1 - 3 (which were also names of the Type 091), Changzheng 7 - 8, and Changzheng 13-16

Seaforces list these 11 names:

Changzheng 1, Changzheng 7 - 8, Changzheng 13 - 20

Which names fits to the kit?
