Hey Guys, Sorry to bring back a two year old thread, but I have a question about the PE tread plate used on this build... The pieces on the floor of the gun tubs. Where would one find those pieces? I'd like to use them on my own 1/350 Buckley... Thanks in advance!

I also bought THREE DML destroyers at $35 a pop at the show... have a Laffey, Benson, and Chevalier to outfit with etch (see my request in Trade thread) and build.
1/350 bug is strong.

Thanks.
Plastic Habit - Dunno. I NEED to finish a review for IPMS, then will either work on:
1) Trumpeter 1/350 USS The Sullivans - easy conversion to the USS Johnston. I'm got Model Master 20mms, plus Alliance Modelworks twin bofors, and GMM's USS Fletcher class PE. Oh, and I'm salvaging the turrets from an old DML Laffey that I totally ruined for her, plus one extra from a Benson that'll have the canvas topped No. 3. The Trumpy five inchers are TERRIBLE. I did some pre-fitting on this kit and found a lot of gaps... not sure I want to deal with this so soon again.
2) 1/700 Tamiya Scharnhorst - Have the Eduard PE, wood deck, brass fittings and mast. Plus, I have GatorMask's pattern for the 1943 dazzle. Being that I just finished a dazzle and don't feel like dealing with the headache, I think this one moved down the queue.
3) DML Chevalier or Benson - Depends on when PE gets here.
4) Hasagawa Kirishima - Lots of extras.
5) Therapy build - something small and easy to practice stretched sprue on.
Thanks.

Your England looks amazing. The weathering is very nice, she looks like she has been around, but not over done. Hope my weathering will come out as nice as yours on my Frank Knox. I was thinking I'd do a dot filter for the hull and sludge wash the decks and structures. Can't wait to see your next build. I'll keep an eye out. Very nice.

Nice bit of weathering fella
Cheers frank. I guess a so so kit with a dazzle paint and (first time) using oils with weathering isn't a bad place, eh?

The ship is mostly done. I'll enter it in Pensacola, but there are too many flaws for it to really win anything but attention. Still, I'm pretty happy with it, being my first stint into 1/350 scale and having a little over a year in the hobby... always improving. To do: Detail painting on anything I don't like Flags Figures? (Time permitting) I've dull coated it to get a look at anything suspicious I don't like. I'll look in the AM when I'm rested.

Thanks Timmy on the depthcharge abors, I was not sure and know that some ships of this size do have canvas splinter protection around the AA caseings. Maybe next time wait for someone who knows Great work PG.
