hey tony!
no..just ordered it..but what i`ve seen from your pictures it`s so far superior to the trump kit that it`ll save a lot of work!

for the wood plancking it`s just the same that i`ve done to the trump kit..just a bit rescribing..wasn`t as hard as i thought

also realized that the housing on the tower is wrong

and these parts are completely missing

Hi Guys,
Thomas,
So; you are starting over? Did you get the Tamiya New Jersey kit yet?
Remember to build the upper fire control tower like the Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. Oh by the way; the Trumpeter kits have the wrong shape upper fire control tower enclosed housing, and the roof is closed! Also the main deck on Wisconsin has more wood planking than the New Jersey did, (or any of the Iowas' for that matter). Go back a few pages, (or more), on this thread, as I am pretty sure I posted some pics of Wisconsin, (for contrast), back when Abram was asking questions about the Iowa. Scribe more deck plank detail to make the same as Wisconsin? Use the WWII Tamiya Missouri aft main deck section, (after filling all of the holes for the AAA weapons and life rafts)? Your thoughts?
I almost did the Wisconsin instead of Missouri back when I did the New Jersey conversion, (just a year ago). The deciding factor was the main deck. It was easier to fill in the recessed deck plank detail to duplicate the Missouri's main deck, (than to scribe in some more plank detail), and that was that.
The Missouri was the most popular, and then the New Jersey, (as evidenced by Tamiya's recent 1/700 efforts). Next came the original fit Iowa, and I heard that Tamiya will be doing the Wisconsin last.
I hope they do!
Won't help me and I guess it won't help Thomas!
Here's to the scratch builder/conversion model builder... :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

hey guys!

shes coming great tony! keep it up!

just ordered:

jag 16 inch turrets
jag upgrade set
lion roar barrels
gmm watertight doors
gmm modernized new jerey pe fret

and i decided to start the wisconsin again with a tamiya nj..i found so much things that have to be done on the trup kit that i thought it`d be better to start again!

so i onlyuse the trump one as test bed on how to install the leds in the bridge!

hey guys!

my laptop crashed down, wasn`t able to respond earlier...now it`s time to save money :censored_2: :censored_2: ....

tony, if you could really get some floating baskets that would be huge!

the derrick will be a real piece of work..let`s see if i rig it to the end

if i get a scholarship (will know it in the next days) i`ll be able to buy a new laptop AND some jag aftermarket replacements..let`s see..

if i buy the jag 16 turrets i should use steves barrels i suppose?

how is your new jersey going?

hey guys!

originally i thought my next project will be a 700 reagan and nimitz..but the iowas got me caught...decided to do a 700 desert storm bb- 64 together with a spru- can.. still got the trumpy wisconsin in my staff...will be some work to detail her but i got time!

has anyone good reference pics for her at that timeframe?

or was she (except from the helo deck) nearly same as missouri( then i could use tonys beauty as reference)

thx thomas
