Sounds to me like the OP became disgruntled.:Tirade:

Maybe there needs to be a time limit on the EDIT function...

Hey, guys!

carr no longer participates on the site, so he's a little difficult to get in touch with. If you want to reach out to him, you can check out his blog and get him there. Search Navy Matters, and you can find him. Concerning pictures of Kirov and friends, I am sure he still has his archive :heh:

I guess it is apparent that carr packed his bags and left, but not before coming in and deleting each and every photo, [broken] photo link and all of his textual content from this entire thread. EDIT--there's about 6 or 7 posts that carr failed to delete, but no photos remain. The rest of his posts were changed to ".."

It has been gutted. And I followed a link from a Chinese site to here, assuming it was some other thread I hadn't seen before.

Since there's nothing here anymore, except replies without any basis (no context), can we slate this thread for deletion?

I agree. Appropriate.

On an unrelated but related note, I will be building a 1/350 modern version of a 9 x 16" gun battleship beginning late this year and most of next year. I will be using the Kirov hull and lengthening and widening it to meet what would be the new dimensions of the ship, between 900 and 920'.

Hi

I plan to build the trumpeter 350 scale Piotr Velikiy.
Not so much builds are shown on the net.

So i'm a bit frustrated to see that the maybe only extensive Kirov build stands without pictures.

Carr, Is there any chance to Upload the pictures with wetransfer or another upload platform?

That would be much appreciated,

Or has another member saved the pics? And would be kind enough to upload them with wetransfer?

thanks in advance

Regards
Romain

Ah, the picture hosting issue raises its ugly head again--all the photo links are broken. :frown_2:

Dear Mr. Carr, is there any chance we may view your photos again, even off-site? They don't even have to be captioned. This whole thread was very inspiring even though, at the time I read it the first time around, I had not envisioned ever obtaining the kit. But fortune granted me a successful chance at this very kit, ridiculously under-priced.

Ah, alas.

That's is one impressive build! I know what ya mean about the clear superstructure and I'm having issues with the clear helicopters. I'm not a fan of the helicopters or anything clear right now.

Curious which pe sets you use? I have only the gmm but would be open to the wem set.

Euhm.... where are the lifeboats??? And the helo? You're not finished yet, you can't leave the looney house like this!

Anyhow, the result is stunning. The stern shot is awesome and most likely the most accurate there is! The lower hull details are a big question if you look at the different props, it's also likely that other parts of the lower hull may be different on each of these ships. Nothing you could have done better on this model. You've gone a long way to create an accurate ship and it won't get much better than this by anyone!

Congrats on finalising the ship although I do hope you will put the lifeboats in place. The helo can be left off, but perhaps a version with folded blades ready to go to the elevator would be nice? Just a suggestion though.

Nice job there but you may want to swap them with each other for they rotate outward. Keith
