This is Aoshimas superb 1/350 I-19 in progress. This kit is lovely, I cant begin to convey the pleasure I am getting from the build.

I haven't decided which Sub to portray. I-19 is responsible for the most successful torpedo attack of all time, albeit more accident than design. However I-25 was allegedly spotted during WW2 in Queen Charlotte Sound, NZ tending to her floatplane. Queen Charlotte sound is about 30 mins from home, and is a favorite swimming spot. The rumor was squashed by the authorities, mainly to stop the population from getting jumpy. I-25 had in fact been in the Cook Strait, and may well have sailed into the Sounds. I-25 then went on to attack the US mainland.

The problem is I would like to do I-25 as a waterline diorama, which this kit does not allow.
