Thanks for posting. Your model is a little gem.

I love the different shades of wood, could you write a few words about that ?

Thanks  For the deck I went with the method of masking off and painting individual planks with various colors. A tape cutting mat is very handy for this (I use Infini's one), biggest challenge is probably controlling the contrast between the different shades as its very easy to overdo it. Off the top of my head, I used Mr. Color c44, Tamiya XF-57, XF-78 and XF-55.
I don't have any good pictures of the process for this model but here are some photos of the same method used on a tugboat I finished last year.

Nicely done. Really like the color contrast the prototype scheme aircraft brings to the model.

Two years of on-and-off work. Hobbyboss + AKAmodel PE set, supplemented with planes from a Tamiya equipment set (OOB plane was inaccurate).
Some final notes on the build:

- First and foremost I would like to apologise for the use of PE figures as opposed to the ION model ones I have lying around in my stash. My "excuse" is that towards the end of the build my motivation was waning quickly and I was not in the mood to have to hand-paint several dozen 3D printed figures. Next time I will definitely use them!

- I opted to paint the Seirans as prototypes although I'm not sure the two specific aircraft I've depicted were actually mounted onto the I-400s. They just looked cooler than the regular green ones and were also a bit easier to paint.

- Having shot my models using my smartphone thus far I have just transitioned to a proper camera + tripod setup. I have a rudimentary understanding of the basic stuff (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) but there is still much to learn. Will potentially update this thread with a few more photos soon.

Thanks for taking a look at my work and as always, feedback is appreciated
