Thanks guys, yes I know about the antenna, but went with it anyway as my patience had run out with it.
I used some cheap self adhesive LED's from jaycar that plug into a USB port to light the hangar bay. Nothing too difficult at all.

cheers

Looking good! Your flite deck looks nicely worn and the aircraft show well. What did you use to light up the hangar bay?
Having her on the water looks cool.

Congrats on finishing this beast of a kit! She looks good!

One suggestion if you don't mind: the radar on the top of the standalone tower appears to be the wrong "mix". When using that feeder horn ("base"), the antenna should be this one to depict the SPS-49:

If you want to use the long rectangular antenna, it would be without the base and look like this: http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/sh ... CN0038.jpg

The Nimitz is depicted about the time of changeover from Tomcats to Hornets and a squadron of Hornets is aboard for trials.
I used the White Ensign Models photoetch kit which is really excellent and gives you almost everything you need. I would have liked to have the big pipes that run at the stern into the water and some little aircraft hooks for the tugs.
Aircraft were sprayed in Light Ghost Grey and the overall ship hull was a light ghost grey.
I found some great online sources and did a lot of printing for the hangar deck to get the various signs and stuff most of which can't be seen.. lol.
The water was done using tissues in PVA glue and then hit with blue and clear gloss.
