Rivet counters do tend to suck the joy out of modeling hobbies.

Don't get me wrong, if I'm going for pure accuracy I'll rivet count the crap out of my own work, but I do love me some "Whiffing"

Welcome aboard, Gato. I don't know if you have "lurked" at all before letting us know you have joined up, but if you have you will have already figured out that this is a great place to come for information and advice. If nothing else, its a great place to come just to oggle each other's work. I feel your sentiments about the threats caused by a Rivet counter CA or BB. To me, rivet counting serves only to suck the joy out of what is otherwise a great, fun hobby. I'm kind of a "big tent" guy, so for those that find satisfaction in rivet counting, I say more power to you. By the same token, there are those like me that like to use a reasonable amount of PE, sometimes even a full blown "upgrade set", to try to improve a build that is of special importance to me. None the less, there is still room in the tent, or at least there should be, for those that like to build strictly OOB. As far as I am concerned, it is whatever gives you satisfaction and joy in our hobby that is important and all should be accepting of that fact.

May I ask if you are new to building model warships, or if you an experienced builder? Also, are you just dipping your toes into the water, or are you, as many of us are, older guys who have returned to a hobby of our youth after many years away? Either way, don't hesitate to jump in and join the fun and participate in the discussions. All contributions are appreciated. I'll be looking forward to reading your future posts and hopefully to seeing pics of some of your work.

Good day,

New in the forum and happy to find this "what if" corner/realm/board to share creative ideas and builds.

I hope to share ideas and get inspired by your talent while safely navigating away from the threat posed by a Rivet Counter CA or BB!

Have a great day and thanks for sharing your ideas with all of us.

Regards

CMGato
