I found my other "progress" pictures.

In the below pic I had to get rid of the "template picture" bow because the incorrect lines kept messing me up. Once that was taken care of I redid the upper superstructure because it wasnt right.

Image

Then next pic is my current progress. I need to work the anchor area on the bow. Also need to put lifelines in, seems like lifelines should be easy but they are bastards.

Anyway, once i get the forward half finished im going to cut the fantail off cause i can tell those lines are going to screw me up too.

Tell next time

Thank you cmakeng. Not sure exactly what you mean by the "pilot house". The bridge is below the spy panles in both versions. I think what youre calling the pilot house is actually the signal bridge, and that is above the spy panles. I took this "signal bridge" concept directly from the Virginia. Its one of the few ships that has this bridge. Probably doesnt really need it but, i like it. The dog house aft the boats is actually the hanger, which will be easier to tell once i get more work done back there.

Thank you for commenting

Looks nice. I would leave out the RMS doghouse aft of the boats. What a debacle that was. At least the Nitze crew got a gym out of it.

I liked how you put the SPY-1's in the other thread above the pilot house like the Fridthof Nansens and F-100's which extends the radar horizon.

Hi Yall', been working a new pic of my CSGN-138 class. So its looking like this is a new flight because I cant leave well enough alone. CSGN-138 thru 140 will be flight I boats and i will do some more of these pics in due time.

When I first started this picture i was thinking it would end up in the junkyard, but as it started commimg along its getting better and better (IMO). This picture is a lot closer and alot more detailed than my previous picture (First pic in my CSGN-138 post). If i can pull it off it will be my best one yet (again IMO). This one has really sucked me in and Ive been on it over three months now.

FlightII will have the gun mount moved forward of the VLS. The VLS is also a new design. Instead of two MK-41 (which would take up alot of space above and below decks) i have "designed" a new one that looks to be about three times the cells of the MK-41 (one of these days when im really board ill try to count them :thumbs_up_1: ). The aft VLS will be even bigger. I have "redesigned" the forward mast after the the masts on the new LPD's. Im guessing that it has a lower RCS. Ill probably do the aft mast in this style also. Im removing the UNREP station amidship to clean up the boat-deck area. I kind of like the original Virginia design where the unrep stations came out of the deck forward of the gun mount forward and aft of the gunmount aft. (a friend of mine posted some cool video of virginia on youtube. A gun firing, CIWS exercise, ASROC shot, Torpedo shot and an unrep) I like the design, less deck clutter.

So, this is the Digital picture i will use as a background. I will also be stealing stuff off this ship for mine.

Image

below is the Virginia "template" I will use. It is one of my "analog" modified pics. I will cut this pic out and reverse it so its going the right direction for the new pic.

Image

I then start adding the stuff i need from different pictures.

Image

in the below pic i have done a lot of blending. I had to start over on alot of things because i was folling the lines from the "template" picture, which are just a tiny bit off from the burk picture. Just enough off to make everything screwy when you would look at the pic as a whole, so i got the lines off the burk pic and fixed everything. This is as far as i am for now. Ill post progress as i can.
