Good day to you all !!
Greetings from Indonesia, I was wondering if you guys could help me out, I'm building the tamiya 1/350 King George V, the client wants it painted in camo as shown on the side of the box, I've been searching all day but couldn't find the top view of that particular camo, so if you could help me it'll be greatly appreciated :)
Regards
JJ

Hi JJ,

That is Admiralty Standard Camouflage Scheme A, and the steel decks & turret tops were painted G.10 Dark Grey. We have that (and the other colors) accurately matched and available in our Colourcoats enamels, and we ship worldwide. In Colourcoats, G.10 is item RN 23. The light grey on the vertical surfaces was G.45 (RN 14), and the blue panel on the side of the hull was B.20 (RN 16). Wood decks were natural teak (C 01). In addition, that scheme made widespread use of white for countershading:

Countershading: Paint the following white:
A. Underside of blast shields, flag decks, boats, Pom-Pom decks and other platforms.
B. Lockers, vents, davits, etc.
C. All darken ship screens, canvas covers for reels, etc.
D. Lower 1/3 of gun barrels, searchlights, etc.
E. Masts and crow’s nest.
F. Insides of gun shields.
G. Stanchions and other small fittings on upper deck.
Masts: White topmasts. Remainder of mast should be the same as adjacent surface.

Hope this helps.

I don't have that kit. what is your time frame? Most sources would give natural wood decks & 507 A or MS 1 for metal decks. Do you have references other than box art? I have a few but would need date or purported scheme. hth! jc
