(EDIT: Several questions were asked but the original poster was removed. Paraphrased, the questions were "what time frame does the Merit CV-6 kit represent, what Colors should it be, and what Tamiya spray paints would be used...)

I believe the Merit 1/350 Enterprise kit represents CV-6 as Midway to Santa Cruz , mid-1942 time-frame. That would be measure 21.

Measure 21 Navy Blue System:
(Source: Ships-2 Rev. 2 June 1942)

Vertical Surfaces: Navy Blue 5-N for all Vertical surfaces

Horizontal Surfaces: Horizontal surfaces, Deck Blue, 20-B.

Wood Decks. 250n stain (similar to 20-B Deck Blue.) "Deck Blue paint shall be used in lieu of stain."

You will not find accurate colors in Tamiya's Spray paint line for USS Enterprise in 1942 (or pretty much anytime)

I found that Krylon, and even Rustoleum, has a pretty good red primer spray that looks okay for the lower hull on USN ships. Tamiya's T33 red spray paint is darker and is better suited to IJN and DKM hull color.

If you must use a Tamiya spray paint for measure 21 on the hull, try AS8 or one of the darker greys like AS4 Grey-Violet. Not accurate but could give the correct impression.

Take a look at various postings here and on FineScaleModeler. Here is one on Measure 21. http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_su ... 14852.aspx

Another modeler used Greys instead of Blues (Doolittle raid time frame): http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_su ... 75098.aspx

Strongly suggest you read thru the many postings on CASF Enterprise on this FORUM.

It's a lot to read, but worth it.

I hope a few veteran builders of the Merit Enterprise chime in on their experiences and suggestions.

Sorry, I do not have any suggestions for Tamiya spray paint for the Roma Lower hull.
