What does the Forum Hivemind here think about the colors of Kriegsmarine life rafts-- especially the ones that so heavily festooned the Type 1936 family of destroyers? I've seen models depicting them in everything from screaming bright yellows through sedate buffs and beiges to grays matching those of the parent ship, and I'm curious how much of this variation is just modelers groping in the dark and how much is based on actual data. I expect that, as with most things of this nature, the reality depends to some extent upon which specific ship we're talking about, on which specific date, but are there any known generalities?
