Recently received my order from Hobby Easy of Muyi 20mm Oerlikons and MK-51 directors. All nicely printed, excellent detail in black resin. Here is the rub, in order to view the parts I had to put on my magna-visor under bright light. Upon glance both items appear under scale but I did not scale them out for 1/700. Both items are probably 3 millimeters in height, if that. There is the attachment points hidden in the black resin jungle on a crowded wafer that one must cut away to utilize the piece and hopefully keep the detail. Lot of work for these very little accessories.
I have come to the conclusion I fell into a 3D Print trap. If its 3D printed it is the best and probably so therefore a must have. But will the detail be seen without a magna-visor? Not at all in 1/700 scale. So I ask myself why devote so much effort and dollars to the really tiny accessories? I learned a lesson in appreciation of the 1 and 2nd generation 3D print vendors. Though not as detailed, they fit the bill once camouflage paint is applied So my new rule if it is not as large as 1.1 gun mount in order to see the detail without assistance I will skip and move on.
Not knocking Muyis excellent printing just not devoting the effort to items this small.
