Back in the days of Shapeways there was a vendor that had parts in 1/300 -1/310 for items like the hanger for Garcia / Brooke class. Anyone know if such things are still around and where / how to get them?

Thanks for the drawings they will help me. I would still love to get the hull lines/ Ships curves to help build the hulls in 1/96 scale.

I am looking for plans that have profile and overhead views and hull lines to build both the Garcia and Brooke class frigates in 1/96 scale.

Builder or Navsea plans would be the best

Do you have youtube videos of such RC models?

Generally yes, while come modelers seem to want to turn scale models into racing boats, most of the members of my club build them to do scale speeds.

Those who build such RC ship models. Do anybody actually try to make a correct displacement/engine power ratio ones?
Because all RC models I've seen are like racing motorboats and do not behave like the original ones they are modelled after?

For example shouldn't a, say 6,5kg (1/10.000.000) Yamato RC model (I do not know how heavy these models are) should had an shp value of 0,015?

There was a 1:72 hull available from Christian at Christians Model Works in Gibraltar, but he shut down a couple of years ago (I have his hull for my USS Brumby).

I understand a 1:72 hull is on the production list for APS Models of Australia, I just don't know when.

Good evening, building USS Brumby post the helo refit and was wondering, did Brumby carry SRBOC, or like the SLQ-32 ESM, was this not carried by the Garcia's?

Thanks

Mike

I recall reading Ray was experiencing serious health issues and may take some time to respond. Meanwhile you could try http://floatingdrydock.com/photos.htm; they may have a copy?

Have you ever ordered from Ray Bean, and if so is this normal for the order to take this long. I hope nothing is wrong. Please send me a PM with more info on the ship plans and cost. Thanks, Joe

Rebuilding the Richard L. Page in 1/96 scale, a Brooke class ship and need detail photo's of all aspects of this ship. Navsource is good but I need more detailed photo's. I sent off for a disc with photo's on this class to a gentleman in Canada but have not heard from him. Order sent out on 1/15/19. If anyone has good photo's please let me know. Joe

I'm trying to build up my 3D parts library of post-war US Navy weapons systems, and I noticed that these ships were equipped with the Mk24 "long torpedo tubes" that I had never heard of until I started researching this class. Information about the torpedo tubes themselves seems to be very thin on the ground, does anyone know where to get some better pictures of the system than what's on Navsource, as well as any kind of specs (drawings especially).

I know that the tubes were used primarily for the Mk37 homing torpedoes, but according to Friedman's US Destroyers book, they were supposed to be compatible with Mk48, which sounds very intriguing. (I'm now kind of envisioning the Spruance-class with stern-mounted Mk24 tubes and Mk48 ADCAP torps. That could be a very nasty surprise for someone. :)

Garcia or Brooke class boat davits

by CEustice » Wed Apr 06, 2016 8:13 pm

Does anyone out there know of any aftermarket suppliers of 1/96 scale boat davits? I'm looking specifically for Garcia class or Brooke class davits for my model. These are round davits instead of angular as seems to be more prevalent. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I received this in the mail today. It is in 1/310 scale but I was wondering if 1/350 photo etch parts would be passable.

Hey Sandy: I'm presently building a 1/96 scale model of the USS Bradley DE-1041, and am in great need of prints .I have a starboard side print, but no others. I'd really like to get ahold of a port side and top views, of either Garcia or Brooke classes. Let me know if you have such a thing. Thanks

Chris

Assuming it's the same antenna, page 38 of this document is what I based my "high frequency communications" statement on.
