Doesn’t turret three (and its director) have to turn in the physically opposite direction of turrets one and two? That’s going to take some tricky mechanical bits. I get saving the servo and channel, but servos are dirt cheap (an SG90 probably costs $1.50 now?). The channel is arguably the more difficult one, but even there you might be able to invert the drive signal from the other two turrets to drive the third one correctly.

I can’t help with previously implemented stuff.

Although it would be easier to have separate servos for each turret, it depends on how many channels you have and how many other functions you want to have.

why have the 3 turrets turn together when can be done separately especially for that large size of a model?

Not sure about elevation but as for synchronized turning Monogram did it this way on their old 1/500 USS Chicago. I built it as a kid something like 45 years ago.... If I remember correctly I had to flare over the ends of the radar and missile mount shafts with a hot blade to keep the linkage part from falling of into the hull.

Hope this helps at least give you a workable starting point.

Thank you both. To clairfy, I want to made all three guns rise and lower together (not independly) and all three gun platforms turn together.
Thank you again.

196IOWA,

You are correct, why reinvent the wheel? I'd even go a step further because anything worth doing is worth over doing, lol.

I had tinkered with the idea of getting into RC warship battles a while back. Admittedly, I realized I'm priced out of that realm. But they do somewhat operate in the scale you are talking about (1/96). Maybe take a look at this website below. I'm quite sure they've figured this out and you could ask around on there you're question as to what would/could work best for your needs.

are the gun barrels elevating or fixed in 1 elevation? for rotating the 3 turrets independent of each other then you need 3 servos.

Good morning, all.
I have been looking online for direction on how to build my remote control turrets for the USS Iowa in 1/96 scale. I have printed the turrets and want to find a way to efficiently and correct make them turn without having to go to the engineering lab and design it myself. Meaning, if it is out there, why reinvent it.

Thank you for all help.
