Friedman's battleship design book has a entire appendix devoted to this damage, although no pictures.

Friedman says the damage there was ultimately the reason the ship was scuttled, and not her Bikini damage.

You might find a damage report with pictures at a NARA branch; I'd say NARA II is the most likely unless you can nail down the chain of command for the repair "activities" (bases,etc.) that would have worked on her and where those records might have wound up. I'm still betting NARA II in college park.

I haven't been able to find pics of the damage itself either.

Can somebody point me to that picture of the pennsylvania in drydock with the aft torpedo damage that almost sank her? (the 1945 pic not the absd pic) I am looking for torpedo damage pics.
