guys is there any scale plans of the atlantic conveyor ?.

I remember visiting the Atlantic Cognac when she was in drydock in Le Harve in the summer of 1977.
I was a steward on the St Patrick car ferry ,Rosslare Le Harve run.Myself and a fellow crewmate crawled under the cognac from one side to the other very scary. Great ship. What a bridge she had.

Interesting. This picture taken during the conversion of either causeway or conveyor seems to indicate a relatively flat deck, which is why I assumed no under deck stowage of containers. OTOH we may be looking at the end of the process of cutting down the hatches and welding the spaces shut. What do you guys think?

Strange lay-out, but now that we can link it to the pictures, indeed forward there are a lot less ventillation ducts visible on deck. Thanks for sharing, explains a lot. Also very interesting concept! Guess it could be useful for today's military too, with rolling material aft and the stores stored in containers, that would make it easy to supply an army overseas!

The forepart of the ship is cellular flanked by extensions of the vehicle decks, the rear part of the ship is completely RORO and the weather deck (including cellular hatches) is external stacking of TEUs......

The few picture I've seen of Conveyor and Causeway under conversion I have seen indicate the absence of container hatches in the main deck.

Actually they call such ships RoCo ships. In this case I'd say yes, they have all containers on deck. The white structures you can see on both sides are ventillation ducts for the car storage area. The ventilation system is always expressed/designed in number of times they can refresh the entire hold volume per hour if I remember correctly. Since these structures are along the entire length of the ship I guess the car space runs along the entire length too, coming to the conclusion that no containers would be stored below deck.
On the other side, they wouldn't be called cellular container ships as the "cells" are only below deck... Maybe it's a mistake made by Terry? Or is the parking space for cars deep down so that they can store one or two stacks of containers below deck too?

Interesting. Since these are Roll On Roll Off ships, does that mean that all containers are stored on deck?
