Song:

Great to review your old projects. Inspiration to continue scratching away at as many components I can. Making good progress on the 40 mm twin Bofors. I haven't yet devised a good method of scratch building the bulwark racks for holding the 40 mm clips.

Cheers: Tom

After clicking the photo I see the cable reels are for a towed array. Nice, as well as the wooden props and even a hand wheel on the scuttle!

I have enough trouble gluing two pieces of plastic together while a Master Artisan can do this.....

He doesn't need to paint his works of art as the quality of work speaks for itself.

This takes me back years, this update. :nod_2:

I remember back in my early teens, reading Boy's Life magazine (it's basically the official monthly of the Boy Scouts of America) and reading about the technique for whittling working chains out of solid bits of wood. It was in the magazine's semi-regular column on woodcarving.

Seems like a lifetime ago, that article.

Song

The radars are nice indeed and the 26' motor whaleboat is especially well executed. Taking an idea fron you and turning some very small items such as bullhorns, gas bottles, for mains etc from wood chucked in a Dremel tool.

Keep up the fabulous ship building.

Regards. Tom

He doesn't paint the top part of his ships. Kind of a trade mark. It's special, but also good looking.

Great job up till now Song, two at a time is not that easy. And pretty repetitive as well!

I hope you haven't glued down all those sub-assemblies, because they're gonna be a real PITA to paint!

Beautiful work. :thumbs_up_1:
