Thanks, she goes together really well actually.
I don't use an airbrush, just brush and spraycans so I had to plan out each step pretty well before assembly. I tried to assemble all the super structures and funnels prior to attaching to the hull/decking. Spots I knew I would have trouble placing ladders (such as those under the catapults) were areas to go against the instructions. Other areas, it said to drill holes and I just simply sanded off the pieces with the pegs and glued direct to what the piece would sit on (turret top rafts are an example, or simply made sure one peg fit and cut/sanded the other).
If you end up utilizing the deckhouse underneath the searchlight stand (Tom's Modelworks comes with two styles of the platform) you'll end up sanding the deckhouse down in order to fit underneath the platform so that the platform legs can reach the deck. You'll also trim the overhang on the sides down a bit.
