I'm more familiar with the 80 foot Elco boats, so would have accepted the tag as correct too. However, Vosper or Thornycroft Torpedo Boat, the details on this boat are really nice. Thanks for posting the pics.

Not a Vosper!

This was offered to me for $400 and I turned it down.. I was stupid, right? :mad_2: :Mad_6:

I know the little tag said it's a British Vosper MTB, but after I did an extensive research, and talked to historians. I discovered that this is not a Vosper in terms of the design and the shape.

This is a Thornycroft Torpedo Boat... There are a lot of Vosper model kits & Torpedo Boat kits, but none of them mention anything about Thornycroft! This was an unique built!

It's a scratch built, plank on frame design, notice each wooden plank? They were hand laid. AND YES! It's a RC boat! 36" long

The only feature that was incorrect in this built was the builder installed two Graupner Schottel drive. If the schottel drive existed back in WWII, I truly believe the Bismarck would not be laid in the bottom of the Atlantic ocean.

Enjoy the amazing craftsmanship! :thumbs_up_1:
