British actor Robin Hughes was a signalman who was supposed to board the Hood as it set sail to hunt for the Bismarck, but the day before, he was reassigned to officer's training school which saved his life. Of the Hood's crew of 1,418 men, only three survived. Hughes said in in an interview he was "four".
