The photo's - all of them look gob-smackingly beautiful, from my point of view, this is dreams coming true, just simply fantastic I struggle to find other words to describe the view -------------- Oh here is just one word -------------- WOW!

I thought it was a PM, but I found no new PM in my mailbox here. However I noticed the name "aleccap" and I saw that
"aleccap" posted here in this thread. So maybe he's talking about my collection after all and I should answer him here.
The answer is that all the warships you've seen are in my show room at the back of my house. They were built by several
skilled modelers. More are coming including PT-boat 1:35 from Italeri. But I also collect warplanes, armors & dioramas
and they outnumber the warships around 10:1

Have you tried the last link in my previous post? That should give you a brief tour of my house though not up-to-date now.

Thank you for the reply, I merely clicked the email window, so suggest that for any confusion it might have caused you, I have actually seen all the photo's on site, and still find it very hard to believe what my eyes are telling me, my wife asked me to email you purely to ask that question, she will never moan at me and my 20 + ships again.

You are correct, I have only seen the link's as my computer does not support Napstar or whatever its called I cannot view the others, just the few where you'll click on.

Your browser may not support Java, but that doesn't prevent you from reading the text portions. Have you tried this menu?:

I know I'm not allowed to swear so a;doehurlorrr vk;awk;fw;; anyway, as I was saying, by mistake I sent this photo to the wrong address, in/on this space measures 11"x30" this is where I construct, paint, PE and photograph my 1-350's, considering my lack of space, I'm not doing a bad job, and once more many thanks to Sean, Timmy and Jim for putting up with this long to get this photo on board right.

Yes, I actually rate an office. It's nice to close the door sometimes and be able to concentrate!

For those curious- the Yamato lost her Antannae on a failed sailing expedition- Im glad I lost the antannae and NOT the investment!!

they all look great, but i have one question for you, how did you get the wives to agree to it

Thought I'd post up a few pictures of a recently completed display room I was fortunate enough to build after I finally saw two great kids off into the wide world. Before you ask, yes I'm married and she's an amazingly tolerant women.

I truly enjoy collecting ships - the bigger the better. Most of the pieces are from 1/96 to 1/192 while the dioramas are 1/350. Wish I had the skills of these builders but I truly never stop enjoying their unique art form. Still have a lifetime of collecting ahead of me to fill the various display shelves but thought people might like to see a few (I hope if my picture skills work). Matt

A few more that might be of interest...


Yamato is 1/144 scale and configured in as-sunk fit. She was built by Patrick Matthews




Nagato is also 1/144 representing her as completed. The model was built in the early 1950's in Argentina by a retired German Naval officer (unknown name). While I don't think the builders sources or materials stand up to current standards, she was an amazing effort before the advent of photo-etch and the internet.

A subject you don't see done very often is a minelayer, this one is DM-26 USS Harry Bauer built by Don Preul in 1/192.

All of these are 1/350 dioramas. I like the subjects - the models all need a little more work focused on the rigging but they're a nice contrast to the pristine versions of the larger scale models in that they tell the real story.
