Having all the 1/700 ships on a common width base means I can re-arrange the displays within all the different wall cases as the collections grow.
The models on the upper shelves are angled so that the average height viewer can see all the models from the same viewpoint

I have bought some new wallcases--identical to my existing- to house my ever increasing 1/700 modelship collection.---
