Hello - this is seemingly an age old problem for me - if I describe what I am doing, perhaps someone can tell me where I am going wrong. On this open page (top) I'll write a few words, the large window below (the one I am now typing) I write what I am now writing, below this are options which I'll tick (notify me when a reply is posted. So far so good and no problems for me. Below this is 2 windows side by side, the 1st filename the 2nd browse, in the browse window I'll place my photo address. Below this file comment and add the file window, which I do not enter anything. The moment I click browse with my attached photo, the top corner lefthand side opens a window - the upload is currently in progress - the bar runs and runs, I am not sure what this does as after 30 minutes I cancel, as clearly loading in 1 single photo should not take this long, if I simply left it, obviously it would take longer then 30 minutes, therefore I believe I am doing something wrong. Could someone point me in the right direction as I struggle with this, hate to give up, but sometimes there's not much choice. Look forward to your reply.

Your pics are too big--that's why the upload is taking so long.

The pics should be re-zed to 800 pixesl across

I am sending you an e-mail- confer later!

File size could also be an issue.

In my heart of heart's I know this is not rocket science, I've tried going into my photographs and changing the pixel size, it won't let me do it, I'm with something called Flicker which gives all my photo's an address, on the down side, I still can't post, the most fustrating thing of all, is its bound to be something simple I keep missing, but just can't put my finger on it.

Alec,

I'm using Flickr too. You should go to "All sizes" from your picture page, and copy the link to largest size that is less than 800px wide. For me it's medium, which is not optimal as it is only 500px wide. If you want a picture exactly 800px wide you can use Piknik ("Edit Photo") and chose the dimensions of your picture.

Let me know if it does still not work!

Thank you for the tip, with the flicker I have, I click on, and straight away I am into my photo stream, I cannot see any option for - all sizes - anywhere on my flicker screen, I have also clicked - home - and basically if its not moving, I've clicked it, and still can't find anything.

Flickr and any of the other photo-hosting websites DO NOT require the use of the Upload Attachment tool at the bottom of your post.

All you have to do is put the address directly in your "Post a reply" box and submit the post. The link will then appear in the finished post and we can click on it to view the picture.

The Upload Attachment tool is used ONLY if your picture is located on your computer, as opposed to on a photo-hosting website. For more information on using it, please view the "Rules (and instructions for using Photo Attachment tool)" thread located in this section of the forums.

I have finally cracked the problem of posting directly to the site, Sean, Timmy C, Kym, Jim an army of wonderful people all helping me with this problem, still haven't quite got it 100%, but for now, I am very happy with what I have. Just like to say THANK YOU and I most certainly couldn't have done this on my own. :woo_hoo:
