this was ship that my wife and i worked on 2-3 years ago when we were living in the philippines. during my recent trip back to manila, i managed to recover it (along with a 1/350 tamiya bismarck) and brought it back to the sf bay area.
of course, in the process it there was damage:
1. bridge detached 2. main mast damaged prior to initial storage (i cut away what was left of it prior to packing for the trans-pacific flight). one of the main mast antennae was lost (may replace with copper wire or I-pins. 3. starboard life boat abreast of turret #3 detached 4. starboard propeller detached 5. starboard anchor detached 6. light dust accumulation during storage
additionally, i'm looking into adding the following 1. experimental railings (my wife tried using copper I-pins and tightly wound black thread). the "railings" for the main deck are essentially complete, and I-pins were installed on other structures above the main deck. however, thread was not yet placed. 2. blast bags
anyone have any suggestions or comments?
regards,
