This may be stretching the definition a bit, but I will start my long awaited scratchbuild of USS Macon, the aircraft-carrying airship!

:doh_1: Okay, I give it try with the DML 1/700 USS Cowpens, CVL-25 and maybe the Trumpeter 1/700 USS Hancock, CV-19..... June huh....
Hmmm, maybe they will be done in time for IPMS San Diego's Model Expo 2008!!
(a small plug for our clubs contest in June)

I don't know if this counts as under 25% completed, but I'm pretty sure I've got a long way to go before I'm finished. This will be the current HMS Ark Royal in 1/350. The progress so far is about 5 weeks worth of work.

After all, I had to give my Type 45 something to escort...

Hi Avery,
I will knock something together for this, Possibly JFK or something between CV-59 - CV-66.

Happy modeling

John

I'd like to join in if I may, with the Trumpeter 1/700 Lexington.

Hello. I've been quite busy casting 1/700 deck tractors. For making 20 sets available for sale, I had to get 300 tractors, but in fact I had to cast about 500, because of air bubbles and to keep a few for myself. (those interested can send me a PM).

For the group build I cannot guarantee anything, as I'm entering the last part of the year at university with a lot of work. But I'll try to do something, maybe a Ronal Reagan out of the box. My Nimitz has the hull nearly finished, and I need more time to build it the way I want.

Let's go, count me in with a Ronald Reagan.

Hi GTB-Red,
Regarding 1/350 I say why not, but it won't be before late june, as I'll be quite busy in the weeks to come. P-25 would look good in that scale.

Well, I've really been cracking on with my invincible........I really like these dragon kits, the fit seems to be really nice on this one...EXCEPT the port side and forward port corner of the 'ski-jump".....I'm having a bit of trouble trying to find photos of this area before it was altered in her subsequent refits....can anyone help me out on this?.....also about to bite the bullet and drill out the fairleads in the fo'csle area, which I'm not looking forward to

I'm building the same kit, same issues. I haven't found any photos of the ski-jump pre-refit either. I'll let you know if I do.

I'm going to jump in with Trumpeter's 1/700 Saratoga 1936. Got the great GMM set lined up for it.

I think that I would like to throw my hat in the ring as well. I am gearing up a 1/700 Fujimi Kittyhawk late 90's and I am planning a couple of 1/700 Trumpeter Nimitz Class, I went ahead and bought 8 them(2 Nimitz, 2 Stennis, 2 Lincoln and 2 Roosevelt), and I might attempt another JFK conversion, this time in 1/700 scale. I think the way to attack a JFK in 700th scale is to use a Fujimi Kittyhawk as your starting point, rob the island and sponsons from an Italeri America and cut off an extra Italeri Nimitz landing area to splice into the Fujimi Kittyhawk Flightdeck.

Here is the start of a Fujimi Kittyhawk. I had some extra planes lying about so I figured that I would leave the hanger doors open and put something in there to look at. I also took some boats from a wrecked Revell Arizona to add some variety to the hanger. I wanted to show the Fujimi without the sponsons to illustrate the ease of a JFK conversion. No cutting on the stern. It also displays how bad the Fujimi detail is on the fantail. That is it! They did a poor job on that part. The aft bulkhead is way too far forward and I will have to scratch build a jet shop to fix that problem.

Count me in too. I will be working on a 1/700 USS Intrepid CV-11. (1944) This will be a late start, as I'm putting all my time in on the Boxer at this time.
