U.S. Crane Ship No.1(AB-1) came from the famous old battleship Kearsarge(BB-5).
The monster electric crane with which she will be equipped will be capable of lifting 250 tons.

The ship hull is made by plastic plate and Light curing putty. The crane is made by photo-etching parts designed by myself.

all historical photos come from NavSource Naval History (http://www.navsource.org/)

Beautiful Work!
Have a soft spot in my heart for this project, as my grandfather served on the USS Kearsarge way back in WWI. I always felt a bit slighted they turned such a noble battleship into a very pedestrian and utilitarian crane ship, but seeing your model of it gives me new respect for the new role she was put to in her later years. A massive and compelling subject, no doubt about it! :wave_1:

Wonderful work. It is a nice job with your photo-etching parts. What type of glue do you use?

Do you know this?
