There have been various discussions on modelling forums about the pros and cons of spreadsheets (e.g. Excel) versus database applications (e.g. KitBase).

I have drawn up a comparison chart:
(I've done my best to be objective but I'm obviously a bit biased as the developer of KitBase)

Note that importing of spreadsheet data into KitBase is planned for the next release of KitBase.
