Kinda tangential, but I saw this exact ship in a satellite image a month or so ago (it was part of a project to locate and identify all Chinese Warships, or ships that are Armed and could be used in a war).

It was cruising around off the coast near the shipyard in Shanghai that built their most recent carrier.

Most of their ships tend to be packed into a motley collection of junk and Junks, and are not in terrific repair.

We noticed that they tend to have exactly three squadrons of Frigates, One Squadron of DDs, and about twice that of small patrol craft out at sea, along with two or three of their Missile Subs (they haven’t many of those). But a LOT of their coastal, diesel and Nixon-nuclear subs seem to never be in port (probably because of idiots like me spending whole days scrolling along their coasts and rivers looking for them).

MB

At a cost of 100 millions per unit they can be produced massively

I couldn't find a release date for this but I hope it's soon. I finally have something to put at the top of my Christmas wish list if it's not out in time for my birthday.

I searched Hovbbyeasy to see if Magic Factory has any other kits available. Currently listed by them are 3 1/35 items, Iron Dome System and 2 NATO modern weapons sets. Hobbyeasy also has listed a 1/48 Corsair 1A/2 for preorder. There are photos of the Corsair model on the listing under construction.

Ciao Frank ,

Below the Magic Factory Facebook LINK, if the assumptions are what I see, model makers in general could have great and interesting satisfactions. We will see .

They've made the PLAN Type 055 destroyer in 1/350: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10920450

That one was a snap-fit model, hence why the Facebook post emphasized that the Ford kit will be a traditional cement-required kit.

We saw a mostly built up version on their table at the NATS last week. Looked pretty good to me.

Latest update from Trumpeter is a WW2 version of USS IOWA in 1:700

http://www.trumpeter-china.com/index.ph ... d=264&l=en

Also a better idea of what is coming in the 1:350 Marseillaise box

According to a well regarded Australian painter and prolific boxtop paintings author, we are expecting an injection 1/350 USS Midway Class carrier.
Following his wip on Facebook.

I’d settle for a 1/700 Marseillaise instead of a 1/700 Iowa! Hey, but, that’s just me!

It appears to be an early straight decked version.

Can't complain about the Iowa too much. It's welcomed based on it being a round bridge example, giving different types of modellers two options including the Tamiya one. Choice is good.

Wow, maybe a Fletcher and an Essex. Might as well do the same subjects 100 times each.

If Trumpeter announced a USS Wisconsin in WWII I might have been interested. Another Iowa or Missouri no thanks.

There are other "versions"/options ;

"Deluxe"

and, for want of another term, "super deluxe"
