Hi Everyone,

What is the best way to paint the fine detail like hatches and other details on the decks of 1/700 scale model ships.

Best Wishes,

Houston

Of course, one way is to use a fine point paint brush. I have also had luck tranferring paint using a round toothpick, as well as a .5mm mechanical pencil lead.

Good luck with your project!

Kurt

I spray my ships all one colour. Then when I paint the deck, I paint round the small fittings. You can then accentuate them afterwards with an oil or watercolour wash.

Cheers,

Rob
