trumpeter F14s with which I have a love hate relationship, hate the fiddleness but love the clear canopies.

Know what you mean about the Trumpeter F14s. After adding PEs to them, they are a kit on their own... counted some 40+ parts with one of them. Then there are the decals!!!

Hi,

Jim you are right, and this time I have some weapons to add as well, courtesy of the now defunct 1/350 range from loose Cannon I think.

I have also redone the hanger bay doors having decided the original gap was to small and I have redone the forward part of the hanger to get a more even finish, pictures to follow......

Is anyone else left feeling a bit underwhelmed at the new CVN-21 class name? To me, it just sounds stupid. We have Forrestal class, Kitty Hawk class, Enterprise class, John F. Kennedy Class, Nimitz class, and now CVN-21 Class? You'd think that with all the work they are putting into the project, they could come up with a better name to the class. I know, I know...CVN-21 is for leading us into the"21st century". That just sounds stupid. You watch, when they get done w/ the newest CVN-78 (CVN-21 Class--see, redundant) they will probably name it something like USS FUTURISTIC CVN-78. Dumb.

Actually, last I heard was that CVN-78 will be named USS Gerald Ford.

I am looking for more pictures of the JBD's. Any help would be appreciated. I have the pictures from this thread just looking for more for a 1/32 diorama.

I hope somebody can tell me what those white lines are for on the flight deck next to the catapult? I assume they are for lining up aircraft? You know what happens when you ass/u/me though. Sorry, can't remember where I saw the picture.[/url]

I think some are called "foul lines," as in safety - don't cross the line or die.

Hopefully not stating the obvious - be sure to click the links as there are massively large hi-resolution versions available.

If you need another "angle" or something, let me know, and I can see what I can find.

The Long Red/White or Solid Yellow lines that run parallel to the Catapults are the Foul Lines.

The small white hash marks located near the track end are to assist with aircraft turning and alignment with the catapult shuttle.

OK - next question. Does anyone make a 1/350 or 1/400 accurate Sea Sparrow launcher or am I going to have to scratchbuild? Your input folks...
