I saw the review and I just received my order for four (4) of these 1/700 scale kits as I plan to build the first four (4) Ford class carriers. I would like to say when I opened the box I was more than happy with what was inside. These kits are every bit as good as the Trumpeter Nimitz 2005 kits. In fact they may be better. But they are certainly worth the wait and the price. I have been building model carriers since the mid 70's when I joined the U.S.Navy. I served in a helicopter squadron (HS-7) which deployed on the USS Saratoga CV-60. When I first saw the Sara I was simply amazed at her size. Immediately I started looking for models of the ship and from there my collection of carriers started. I now have over 90 US carrier models from scales 1/800 to 1/350. I plan on building a 1/300 Saratoga one day since I served in the airwing and I have all the aircraft I need from a company called Nichimo. I do have a few cruisers and destroyers and a couple of battleships. But my favorite by far is the U.S. Aircraft Carrier.

A suggestion for Brandon:
I took the bait and now I want to order the kit from Squadron.com. I searched and found three versions of the 1/700-scale MF kit, but very little information about what distinguished one from the other. There's a basic kit for $60.89, an "Upgraded Version" for $89.59, and a shiny "Clear Painted" version for $131 whose description only says "500 pieces limited globally. clear parts, pre-painted decks, 28pcs aircraft added, new decal". The pictures seem to show transparent hull sides so we can peek into V-1 berthing's head (I suppose). Please consider adding more information so that we don't need to go rummaging through the internet to find a breakdown or review describing the differences in the boxings. Consider too that if we do, and we find a review site with the necessary info, we might reflexively just order from that other site!
