I may be pushing my luck here, but do you have any of Nimitz in the 90's?

Which year/operation exactly? There are so many differences especially in domes/radomes, electronics and other stuff that you have to specify what you 're asking for.

Kid,
CVN68 period 1976~1980, nowadays its not hard to find NIMITZ pictures in todays configuration.

Cruisebooks do show a lot (crewmembers), but still the ships pictures don't reveal much. Old Kokufans ocasionnaly popsup with some.

Motion picture 'The Final countdown'is still one of my best reference.

Darren & Dan, provided me useful information aswell, here on the forum.

I've seen lots of the same pictures used in books and just seeing your pictures, tell me a diffrent story.

Just wished there was some kind of 'Detail&inScale' USS Nimitz.

:cool_2:

we need to get some modellers on all the carriers, Cruise books are all about the sailors, maybe they should do 2 cruise books, 1 dedicated to the Ship and CVW, maybe we shoud email the carriers PAO's send them pics of our builds and ask for pics of the ship and CVW for future builds, i had good response when i used to write to all the USN warships, cost a small fortune in postage. Most ships and squadrons have their own websites now. :lol_1:

Great Pics once again! Just 'v put 'em in my pocket :eyebrows:

Where these from Nektarios?
Cruisebook 1980~81?
Some come with the book from 1979 I have, but not as many like these.

I did discovered GMM and WEM used Ikes cruisebook do to work on the PE, some things are not used on Nimitz atall and the small radardishes aside the catwalks counts 3, instead of 2! These are just small details one can find in the right pictures.
Ofcourse it can't beat the real thing, but its much more pleasant seeing your kitship close to it.

Thx for the pics, I sure will study em closer, might do the HM16 decals for the ISW Sea Stallions and already removed one pole from my Island, which didn't belong there. I need to add two more on the mast and one somewhere else.

Jamas !! :surfer:

Here are pics showing markings and detail of Kutnetzsov's deck............ first couple show a USN style whit marking in the landing zone, later pics show these markings to be either badly worn or showing through after being over painted.

A very good pic for weathering those Kutznetsov decks

Here are some more pics of Kutznetsov, showing weapon launchers, these include the SAN-8 VLS Silos, CADS system, 30mm ADG's and the ASW RBU launchers............

Image

Look above the crane, there is a CHAFF launcher and what looks like three Infra Red Decoy launchers, also visible are SAN-8 silos, one CADS system is far right.

An upcoming project of mine is to convert a 1/700 Hasegawa Hancock (I have one to many) to USS Oriskany in 1965. Yes, I know Dragon is doing a SCB-125, and yes I'm going ahead with my project. Am I insane? Probably. Wish me luck! :thumbs_up_1:
