Thanks Dadeo911 and Yuth forcyour kind comments...so here is today's update on the carrier for the diorama battle of Coral Sea...l finally placed all stern's decks...l had to remove the 20mm Oerlikon since l bought a new kit with better barrels...l also placed all the ammo boxes for the 5"3/8 cannons...note that l had to make some boxes since 8 were missing in the pe kit..enjoy

Dear all here is today's update on the carrier for the diorama battle of Coral Sea...l placed the bow and also here l removed the 20mm Oerlikon..better one will come...enjoy

So...dear all here is today's update on the carrier...l started the super detailling of the flight deck..the kit does not shows any details..sooo l had to make all the arresting cable "pits" and all the barriers...enjoy

Well l cannot describe them better than this it's the structure under the cables that you can see here on the blueprints..

the crash barriers lay on the deck not in the deck material, the arresting cables each sits on 3 perpendicular bars which elevate said cables above the flight deck for the aircraft's tailhook to snag when that aircraft is landing on the ship.

Thank you FFG-7 for you explenation...but l needed to describe what l was doing :big_grin: and it's difficult since nothing exists in the kit to do all these cables

why not use fine copper wire for the arresting cables then?

I will but before l have to make those (look at the picture these are the infamous "pits" l mis-spelled/cited) and then l will use cables but not copper since they bend to much l'll probably use 0.1mm steel cables

I think that is an expansion joint. the strip to the left of it is the tie down for the aircraft.
