Hello, This is my 2nd ship, take a break on cars. :P

1st of all, this is a Tamiya 1:700 waterline series USS Missouri year 1944. As i like it to be full hull instead of waterline, i get a lower hull donor from Trumpeter USS Wisconsin that got it with a bargain for 10 bucks for whole Wisconsin kit. Detail it with Flyhawk PE

Combine trumpeter lower hull with Tamiya waterline hull.

Replace the main gun with brass type.

Radar dish and gun director too replace with PE. Radar dish consists of 11 parts of PE, gun director consists of 4 PE parts each. very long hours only to get it done, but worth the effort.

Another not so sure what radar or sensor replace with PE.

I saw that detail set and was very impressed with what Flyhawk created. You're doing an excellent job with it. I'll be watching for sure.

The PE work is truly fine. I don't see any bad folds or errors at all. That is very impressive at this scale.

Autodeception:

Very nice work! I'll be following this.

How did you remove the Aztec steps on the kit without damaging the deck planking scribing too badly? You seem to have done a nice job.

And how is the fit of the Flyhawk PE? I'm thinking of getting a set.

Please advise.

And here is some inspiration for you: a beautiful build of the 1/700 Tamiya kit with the Flyhawk PE. Enjoy!

http://forum.modelship.com.tw/phpBB2/vi ... php?t=3691

Many thanks!

Mike E.

Hello Mike, thanks for the link! great inspiration, but i dont think i have enough skill and experience to archive that yet. haha. By the way, the Flyhawk PE set are awesome. the only drawback is the instruction. Is somehow incomplete, for example, no instruction on where are the stairs and all the railing should be, and the instruction for the doors are not really match. Hope it helps.

Amazing what can be done in this scale!

One note, the windows on the flag bridge should be flush with the ones on the bridge above, not recessed under.

Hard to imagine doing this detail in 1:700! Nice

Cheers Tom
