Due to a major stuff up by the importers or exporters of the Fujimi Ise into the US, I've had to resort to another resin kit I've had for ages, Yankee Modelworks USS Juneau/ Atlanta kit. I'm building it as Juneau as sunk and these pics are of it at stage one of painting. I've got to say, after doing a few IJN cruisers and battleships, the US counterparts are quite boring apart from the intricate paintwork.

It's only because it seems IJN ships were loaded with useless clutter and USN ships more simple in their layout!

Thanks Jim, but it's not over yet, I've still got to put some effort into going down to the shed. I really don't know what's causing it, some days I go down there, walk around in circles for half an hour, then head back to the house.



I think that's one of the reasons that attracts me to them, they look so 'action packed' and busy. When you see works by Lars or Jeff Lin, the decks are just covered with the day to day life on board.

The slump....do not worry about it...part of the human condition.

The ship..looks good ...but I got the biggest kick from the upside down masking tape covered wood stick in the background! Mine look EXACTLY the same. Counted the 8 unpainted spots and knew you had the 5"-38 houses there, properly spaced to paint all sides. It is such a great idea. It holds the parts, it safely stores the parts while other items are worked on and costs next to nothing. I think one of the reasons we like to build is that we get to solve these little problems and are rewarded with a ship at the end.
