Next in my collection of the Northampton class heavy cruisers is the Chester. AFAIK there aren't any kits of this ship especially in 1/700. With an offer for assistance with spare parts from Corsair Armada I elected to build Chester in a late pre-war configuration. This required parts from the Corsair Armada kits Northampton, Chicago (1 part) and Houston. I'll provide a detailed report on the build when it's finished and submitted to the site for the gallery, however I will entertain specific questions if they pop up along the way. I was hoping to finish her by the end of the month but I don't see that happening now due to time constraints. Here are some preliminary shots of the process, including opening the area for the torpedo tubes and modifying the hangar area.
