Greetings,

Just completed, Trumpeter 1/350 scale USS Saratoga circa 1936 with 72 biplanes. Details on the air group can be seen here:

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=378479

I have not yet decided on placement of the air group so the photos will show various arrangements. I may also add crew figures once the aircraft positioning is finalized.

The build includes various photo etch sets, Starfighter decals, scratch built details and items from the spares bin. Some of the kit parts were modified to better reflect Saratoga in 1936.

Thanks for having a look, questions and comments always welcome.

Cheers,
Bill

This group of images show Saratoga without any aircraft. Flight deck was finished with Derwent watercolour pencils applied dry over a Tamiya base coat and rubbed down to give a subtle planking effect.

Great stuff - I love it. Gotta love a pre-war Sister Sara with the funnel stripe and yellow winged aircraft. Well done!

I always wanted to do a carrier from the 1930's, they just look so fantastic.
Many thanks,
Bill
