Hey group, the is the steam coaster Belford from the new coastal cargo set by Starling models.
It was a quick an easy build though the hulls in the set starting warping badly a week or so after it arrived.
I could correct it on Belford but the larger Yewdale snapped in three pieces when I heated it and try to bend it back in shape.
It looks like the 3d prints are much more brittle than the resin used in the earlier tugs and barges set.
Despite this minor setback I really like the set and it is a good starting point for anyone who wants to build a diorama on any North Sea or Irish Sea port from 1920 to 1960.
The Thames Barge is from the earlier tugs and barges set.

Thank you. Rebuilding Yewdale is next. I have CV Waine 'Steam Collier fleets' in my library so I have a fair number of possibilities for the rebuild.

Nice to see a merchantman modelled. I've got my eye on a trio of costal trading vessels. I too had to give up on a 'resin' kit 80 or 90 hours into the build earlier this year: it was like modelling with toffee brittle. I suspect some of the parts were PLA bioplastic - not a bit like the old yellow stuff I used to work with.

Thanks Donald. About the resin, it seems to depend on what kind of resin is used on the casting or printing process. This one was very brittle while Starlings' earlier kits were much easier to use. One of the reasons I sometimes still order from Shapeways despite being rather pricy is that their smooth fine detail plastic is stable and relatively easy to bend into shape if necessary.

Thanks a lot for showing these to me at WME Pieter! They look even better in person. So beautifully small and detailed... And excellent water too! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:
