This the ancient (vintage 1967) Pyro kit of a Dutch "Staten Jacht." No scale is given; I would guess 1/200 - 1/250 or thereabouts. I enjoy building these old sailing ship kits - my rigging skills are rudimentary at best, but I enjoy painting these kits and the contrast with more modern ships.

Paint looks great on this one Paul. I also enjoy painting the older ships. painting is what it.s all about. The hull details look awesome.

Ah, I've been trying to get one of these for quite some time - what a lovely little model! Thanks for showing! :thumbs_up_1:

Nice! A replica of a Statenjacht was built in my home town of Utrecht, (and can be used for parties and weddings (just as the original, I suppose).

Historical fact: before the French conquest (1790's something) and the establishment of the Batavian republic, the upper red line of the flag of the Netherlands was actually orange. I'm not sure what year this ships is to be from?

That's sweet, Paul! Love these old Pyro/Life-Like kits.

Will you be coming down to Cincy on October 1st with her?

Thanks everyone! Michel, I will have to sheepishly blame the box art for my red-striped Netherlands flag. I imagine the ship is supposed to be from earlier than 1790 (although the kit doesn't say). Tom, yes, I do expect to bring this to the Cincinnati show on 10/1.

Nice build Paul, she looks good, especially for such an old kit!
