Hey guys, I thought Id share some drawings I had made a few years ago of USN Proposed Destroyer designs. The first drawing in each set is the original proposed design with subsequent renditions (when applicable) made using artistic license on my part (ie. camouflage schemes and weapon upgrades)

Scheme "A"

Scheme "B-IV"

DD-X Design This one is more my design, based on a Fletcher class hull.

I also have drawings I made of other "What-Ifs" if anyone is interested I can post those as well

Please post up all the designs you're willing to share man! Some neat little tin cans you got there. If I may make one suggestion? The Bofors mounts you have on the sterns should be "stair-stepped" to improve their firing arcs and take full advantage of having more than two mounts. Also, raise them up a deck if there's a 5"/38 next to them so that they can superfire over them. Other than that they look great! Keep them coming!

(I changed the thread title so I could include other ships.)

Thanks for the response Cliffy. As requested here are some more drawings:

And now a design I came up completely on my own, it is a Hawaii Class Battle-cruiser (Sorry these are so small, photo-bucket re-sizes them and I don't have a pro account anymore):

Anything else? I really must know, how did you do the drawings on the computer? My personal favorites would be Scheme "B-IV", DD-X, and everything in the second post!!! It's just outstanding what one can do on the computer...

I'm really liking the Philippines there! What's she carrying for her main battery? Looks like it could be smaller than the 12"/50s.

Those were quick replies guys! Ive got some more drawings. I need to upload them to photo-bucket first though.

Cliffy, the Hawaii class Battle-cruiser actually has a main armament of 14"/50s like on the New Mexico and Tennessee class Battleships. Like I said since Photo-bucket re-sizes the pictures it looks smaller than it should be. The USS Hawaii has an armament of two Triple 14"/50 turrets, six dual 5"/38 turrets, 12 quad 40mm bofors, 2 dual 40mm bofors, and 53 single 20mm mounts. The USS Philippines is a modified design with an additional 2 dual 5"38 turrets midships, deleting 2 of the Quad 40mm mounts. I made three ships in the class, USS Hawaii CC-7, USS Samoa CC-9, and USS Philippines CC-10.

The drawings are generally made by finding low quality base drawings, re-sizing them to fit my "scale" and then using them as a basis to get the correct general shapes and size.

Here's another one,

USN Proposed Flight Deck Cruiser First design I named the Cheyenne Class
CF-1 Cheyenne

CF-2 Natrona

CF-3 Flagstaff

CF-3 Flagstaff without color

USN Proposed Flight Deck Cruiser Second design, I named the Prescott Class
CF-5 Prescott

And another Flight Deck Cruiser design I made using a Baltimore class hull (which I am somewhat building a model of, right now its on hold)
CF-4 New Haven
