I have a large collection of WWI/II 2400 scale minis - I have been posting my 700 scale IJN upgrades on that thread but was thinking of possibly running a Harpoon game using my WWI/II Naval minis The idea is that: during the war both the Axis and Allies broke up dividing the war into 3 theaters, 1) Russia/German Eastern Front (independent with no western aid) 2) Western Allies/Germany-Italy Axis Western Front (actually competing against Russia instead of aiding them) & 3) Western Allies/Japan Pacific. War ends with Germany & Japan still losing but with a negotiated loss. Some (or most) of their fleet units remain intact and are allowed to serve, some captured either by West or Russia & some switch hands as reparations. Post war (as with interwar period) enforced naval restrictions on new construction results in older ships being retained and rebuilt/modernized. Some are transferred/sold to friendly/satellite nations. At some point in the future (1959-1989 haven’t decided on exact time frame) war involving various WWII warships with modern/cold war upgrades. USS Phoenix (a pre-war cruiser) was still in service in the 80s as the Argentinian General Belgrano (till she was sunk by a British sub). What I’m looking for here is submissions for upgrade designs. These should be more realistic and viable upgrades (no Bismarck with a 5th turret and 50 Mk141 harpoon launchers or a Mk 16 on the foretop - see Galveston-class cruiser, USS Boston (CA-69), USS Albany (CG-10) for examples). These can be any WWII or earlier surface warship (I have most of the major surface warships – not carriers - including planed - "H" class, "P" class, Tosa, Amagi, Type 13, USS Montana, "G3" class BC etc...), from any nation (keep USSR with USSR & Western Allies with "NATO" but Axis either way) and can be USSR or US/British/French/Italian/Joint NATO upgrades.
Some of these would be used as the basis for 700scale upgrades later.\
